This month marked the 10th anniversary of the first installation of StockLynx at a small hotel in Armidale, in north western NSW, Australia. At the time, StockLynx was the latest development in Lynx Software’s new range of Sharp cash register communication programs. It was designed primarily to cater for the stock control needs of bar & bistro venues.
Over the next 12 months, dozens of hotels and clubs throughout NSW, and then later in Queensland, adopted this easy to use program that made controlling items and prices in their cash registers, collecting sale data for reporting and managing inventory so much easier. With the growth of the product came an expanded market – first within all states of Australia, as well as New Zealand and other overseas markets.
Then, in late 2007, Lynx Software expanded their product range to incorporate Uniwell cash registers and POS terminals. Since then Uniwell Lynx and SharpLynx (as StockLynx became known) have gone from strength to strength, with hundreds of software packages being installed throughout Australia and around the world.
Lynx Software continues to develop up-to-date features for hospitality and retail venues that connect to the latest Uniwell and Sharp POS terminals. As POS technology develops, so does the need for effective back-office control.
The most recent developments in Uniwell Lynx have been incorporated into the Uniwell4POS project – a joint initiative between Uniwell POS Australia, Lynx Software and POSLynx to formulate and market integrated POS solutions to specific niche areas of the hospitality and retail industries – including bakeries, cafes, convenience stores, fast food outlets and fresh food retailers.
It is our hope that Lynx Software continues to provide small to medium businesses with a suitable, beneficial and easy-to-use back-office solution that caters for their POS management needs.
