Your Lynx Software program is licensed to the computer it was installed on. If there is a need to move the licensed copy of the software to another computer (or change key hardware components of the computer such as the HDD), a ‘Deactivate License’ function must be performed on the current licensed computer before installing the software and activating the license on the ‘new’ computer. Each Electronic License Activation (ELA) is limited to a total of 5 activations – so it can be moved 4 times after its original installation.
There are some legitimate occasions when the software hasn’t been correctly deactivated but the end-user needs a new activation code. If this is the case, the following application must be completed before POSLynx will order a replacement ELA code from Lynx Software. An administrative charge of $100.00 (ex. GST) will apply for replacement ELA codes.
- POSLynx does not provide new Electronic Licenses for software versions that are past the ‘End of Support’ date. As of January 1 2018, users of SharpLynx and Uniwell Lynx version 5 and older would need to upgrade their software and receive a new Electronic License.
- Lynx Software and POSLynx may request further information depending on the reason given for the replacement ELA – for instance, if the computer has been stolen, we may request to see a copy of a Police report confirming the theft.
- Lynx Software and POSLynx reserve the right to refuse to arrange a replacement ELA if we deem that the application is in any way fraudulent.
- POSLynx is not in a position to provide immediate replacement ELA codes. Typically a new license can be made available within 24 hours, but at times there could be a wait of up to 48 hours between the application submission and receipt of the new ELA.
